Elected officials from Coralville, Iowa City, North Liberty, and Johnson County joined with the Affordable Housing Coalition, residents, owners, advocates, and legal experts to determine what could be done to address the threat of predatory ownership of manufactured housing communities in Johnson County. Since June, the group has met to discuss strategies that have been used in other parts of the country to determine what was feasible locally.
12 strategies were identified. Now, the Task Force urges local elected bodies to implement the strategies in order to safeguard manufactured housing as a source of safe, affordable housing and to protect the rights of MH residents. Read the report here
